Roma s’appresta a festeggiare il suo 2772° compleanno in grande stile. Domani 21 aprile la città avrà un motivo in più per festeggiare in grande stile con eventi culturali, rievocazioni storiche e mostre, molte delle quali ad accesso gratuito.

Il Natale di Roma è una festa legata alla nascita di Roma. Leggenda vuole che la Città Eterna fu fondata da Romolo proprio il 21 aprile del 753 a.C. La data riportata negli scritti del Varrone, venne stabilita da calcoli astrologici fatti da Lucio Taruzio.

La prima celebrazione del Natale di Roma venne fatta dall’imperatore Claudio, nel 47 d.C. cioè ottocento anni dopo la presunta fondazione. in realtà quei festeggiamenti in grande stile non erano altro che un modo di far propaganda all’impero.

Nel corso dei secoli successivi le celebrazioni sono state interrotte e riprese più volte. Oramai è da un po’ più di venti anni che a Roma si è tornati a festeggiare il 21 aprile l’anniversario della fondazione dell’Urbe.

Per celebrare il Natale di Roma in grande stile, quest’anno la Sovrintendenza Capitolina ha messo a punto un ricco programma di attività didattiche a partire da oggi fino al 26 aprile. Ci saranno incontri con i curatori mirati a far conoscere meglio i luoghi e le opere più importanti presenti in città.

Al Circo Massimo e in via dei Fori Imperiali ci saranno i gruppi di rievocazione storica che sfileranno e organizzeranno diverse attività didattiche mirate a far conosere a tutti la storia di Roma. Se volete avere un’assaggio di ciò che vi aspetterà, vi propongo il video girato lo scorso anno.
