Per festeggiare in maniera degna il mio 544° compleanno, ieri me ne sono andato a spasso per musei approfittando della Settimana della Cultura durante la quale i musei aderenti consentono l’accesso gratuito ai loro capolavori.

Dove sono stato? Casa Buonarroti prima e Galleria degli Uffizi poi. M’è un po’ dispiaciuto il fatto che a Casa Buonarroti non si fosse pensato di festeggiare in qualche modo il 6 marzo. Una data così importante proprio per quel luogo sarebbe degna di un po’ più di attenzione magari organizzando qualche conferenza a tema o mettendo a frutto idee diverse. Comunque, come spesso accade, i visitatori nel tempo che sono rimasto io saranno stati quattro in tutto, me compreso. Peccato… a mio avviso una bella occasione sprecata.

La Galleria degli Uffizi, escludendo i mesi di novembre, gennaio e febbraio, è quasi sempre strapiena e l’attesa, pur lunga che sia, vale sempre la pena. Comunque ho potuto constatare di persona che i nuovi totem snelliscono in maniera efficace le code chilometriche anche nelle giornate di accesso gratuite per tutti. Efficaci, pratici e semplicissimi da adoperare.

Come probabilmente sapete, da qualche anno è possibile fotografare e relizzare riprese video nei musei italiani senza problemi, purchè non si adoperino né flash né selfie stick. Questa cosa mi pare stia sfuggendo un po’ di mano. Le opere più celebri vengono prese d’assalto e diventa un po ‘complicato vederle senza qualcuno davanti che le stia immortalando. La faccenda non mi da fastidio più di tanto ma trovo interessante non solo guardare il dipinto di turno ma anche chi si ci fa immortalare davanti. Lo so, son strano, ma tant’è.

Comunque non preoccupatevi, magari vi risulterà difficile vedere la Primavera del Botticelli o il Tondo Doni senza aver davanti qualcuno che fotografa ma mano a mano che procederete attraverso le sale, i visitatori saranno sempre più stanchi e saranno meno propensi a sfoderare i loro smartphone. Il povero Caravaggio e la povera Gentileschi che si trovano fra le ultime sale degli Uffizi vengono spesso ammirati di fretta e quasi nessuno fotografa.

In ogni modo tornare agli Uffizi è sempre meraviglioso nonostante tutto e tutti. Uno di quei luoghi imperdibili che almneo una volta nella vita tutti dovrebbero avere la possibilità di visitare. Il sempre vostro Michelangelo Buonarroti che prima di salutarvi vi ringrazia tutti per gli auguri ricevuti ieri. Grazie a chi è entrato in un museo pensando a me, grazie a chi m’ha ricordato con un pensiero, a chi m’è venuto a portare un fiore davanti alla tomba e a chi sempre mi tiene nella mente e nel cuore.

Visiting my house and the Uffizi for the birthday … considerations

To celebrate my 544th birthday in a dignified way, yesterday I went for a walk around museums taking advantage of the Culture Week during which the participating museums allow free access to their masterpieces.

Where have I been? Casa Buonarroti first and then the Uffizi Gallery. I’m a little disappointed that at Casa Buonarroti we had not thought about celebrating somehow on March 6th. A date so important for that place would be worthy of a little ‘more attention perhaps by organizing a few thematic conferences or by putting to use different ideas. However, as often happens, the visitors in the time that I remained will have been four in all, including me. Too bad … in my opinion a good opportunity wasted.

The Uffizi Gallery, excluding the months of November, January and February, is almost always packed and the wait, however long it may be, is always worth it. However, I was able to see for myself that the new totems effectively streamline kilometer queues even on free access days for everyone. Effective, practical and very simple to use.

As you probably know, for some years it is possible to photograph and relate video footage in Italian museums without problems, as long as they do not use flash or selfie sticks. This thing I think is escaping a little ‘hand. The most famous works are taken by assault and it becomes a bit complicated to see them without someone in front of them being immortalized. The matter does not bother me much but I find it interesting not only to look at the painting on duty but also who is made to immortalize in front. I know, I’m strange, but so be it.

However, do not worry, maybe it will be difficult to see Botticelli’s Spring or the Doni Tondo without having someone in front of you but as you go through the rooms, visitors will be more and more tired and will be less likely to show off their smartphones. Poor Caravaggio and poor Gentileschi who are among the last rooms of the Uffizi are often admired in a hurry and almost no one photographs.

In any case, returning to the Uffizi is always wonderful despite everything and everyone. One of those unmissable places that every once in a lifetime everyone should have the chance to visit.
