Ezechiele è il profeta che racchiude nella sua esistenza il dono dello Spirito dell’intelligenza. Volli attribuirgli un aspetto dinamico, è molto più movimentato degli altri veggenti.

Osservate le ciocche dei suoi capelli che sfuggono dal cappello e vengono mosse dal vento.

Affrescai Isaia in atto di alzarsi dal trono, con il rotolo delle profezie stretto nella sinistra e la mano destra aperta con il palmo rivolto verso l’alto che rende palese la sua perplessità.

Proprio la mano destra voglio farvi osservare con attenzione. Vi ricorda niente? Ha la stessa posa della mano sinistra che scolpii anni prima alla Pietà Vaticana.

Alle spalle del profeta Ezechiele si vede uno dei geni più belli che accompagnano i veggenti, con quel volto così concentrato e la chioma mossa dal vento.

Ezechiele ha un impatto scenico dominante e si trova al di sotto della Creazione di Eva, dalla parte opposta della Sibilla Eritrea. Sia Ezechiele che l’Eritrea infatti predissero il giorno del Giudizio.

Ezechiele indossa una tunica rossa e un mantello che cangia dal celeste dello smaltino al morellone.

Il profeta Ezechiele era nato attorno al 620 a.C, verso il termine del Regno di Giuda. Discendeva da una famiglia di sacerdoti ma lui sempre visse da profeta, interpretando e rendendo note le sue visioni divine.

Ricevette profezie molto articolate e complesse e fu capace di riuscire a vedere ciò che si verificava a Gerusalemme, anche stando a 2mila chilometri di distanza.
