Ercole e Caco del Bandinelli: terminato il restauro
Il restauro dell’Ercole e Caco del Bandinelli è giunto al termine e sono stati rimossi i ponteggi che da qualche tempo erano stati allestiti attorno all’opera per consentire ai restauratori di lavorare.
Sapete che quell’Ercole e Caco avrei dovuto scolpirlo io? Proprio così, ve ne ho parlato nel dettaglio QUA.
Il gruppo dell’Ercole e Caco, dopo la rimozione dei ponteggi, era stato avvolto provvisoriamente con dei teli, necessari per consentire il consolidamento delle nanocalci, necessarie per proteggere l’opera cinquecenteschi dagli attacchi degli genti atmosferici.
Il prodotto applicato a dispersione di nanoparticelle di ultima generazione è caratterizzato da una speciale formulazione creata dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze.
E’ stato applicato sulla superficie e ha consentito di dare una maggiore consistenza al marmo di base. L’opera è stata trattata infine con uno strato superficiale di protettivo altamente traspirante.
La clava che probabilmente era in bronzo dorato in origine, è stata restaurata da Nicola Salvioli ed è stata ricollocata in loco.
La prossima volta che andrete a Firenze avrete modo di vedere da vicino l’Ercole e Caco del Bandinelli appena restaurato.
Il restauro dei gruppi scultorei di piazza della Signoria fa parte di un accordo tra il Comune di Firenze e la maison fiorentina Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A. che, tramite Art Bonus, ha elargito un’erogazione liberale di oltre un milione di euro.
I lavori sono diretti dal Servizio Belle Arti del Comune, dall’architetto Tommaso Muccini, con l’alta sorveglianza a cura della SABAP Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio e sono eseguiti da Cooperativa Archeologia con i restauratori Nicola Salvioli per il restauro delle parti in bronzo e Stefano Landi per i materiali lapidei, con il supporto del CNR per le indagini diagnostiche.

Hercules and Cacus by Bandinelli: restoration completed
The restoration of Bandinelli’s Hercules and Caco has come to an end and the scaffolding that had been set up around the work for some time to allow the restorers to work has been removed.

The group of Hercules and Cacus, after the scaffolding was removed, had been temporarily wrapped in sheets, necessary to allow the consolidation of the nanolime, necessary to protect the sixteenth-century work from the attacks of atmospheric agents.
The product applied by dispersion of latest generation nanoparticles is characterized by a special formulation created by the University of Florence.
It was applied to the surface and made it possible to give a greater consistency to the base marble. Finally, the work was treated with a superficial layer of highly breathable protective material.
The club, which was probably originally in gilded bronze, was restored by Nicola Salvioli and relocated on site.
The next time you go to Florence you will be able to see Bandinelli’s Hercules and Cacus up close.
