Quanto è alto il David originale?
Nelle guide e nei libri un po’ datati si racconta che l’altezza del David sia di 4 metri e dieci centimetri. Questa era la misura ufficiale data per certa fino a diciotto anni fa.
L’altezza complessiva è stata però rivista e corretta nel 2000: il David è più alto di circa un metro e misura per l’esattezza, dalla testa ai piedi, 5 metri e 17 centimetri.
Insomma, per molto tempo il David è stato creduto un po’ più basso di quello che in realtà è. La misura è stata corretta grazie ai rilevamenti effettuati mediante un’innovativa tecnologia messa a punto da Marc Levoy, ricercatore della Stanford University.
Se avete in casa un libro stampato prima del 2000 sul David o una guida della Galleria dell’Accademia scritta prima del nuovo millennio, correggete l’altezza del gigante che continua ad ammaliare turisti, studiosi e ammiratori provenienti da ogni parte del mondo.

How tall is the original David?
In the slightly dated guides and books it is said that the height of the David is 4 meters and ten centimeters. This was the official measure given for certain until eighteen years ago. The overall height was however revised and corrected in 2000: the David is more than a meter tall and measures the exactness, from head to toe, 5 meters and 17 centimeters.
For a long time the David was believed a little lower than it actually is. The measure was corrected thanks to surveys carried out using an innovative technology developed by Marc Levoy, a researcher at Stanford University.
If you have at home a book printed before the year 2000 on the David or a guide of the Accademia Gallery written before the new millennium, correct the height of the giant that continues to fascinate tourists, scholars and admirers from all over the world.
