Il Cristo Giudice del Giudizio Universale
Cristo guarda l’umanità che sta precipitando negli inferi, tirata e bramata dai demoni. Alza il braccio destro e giudica i vivi dai morti, quelli che potranno accedere alle vie celesti e quelli che rimarranno dannati per sempre. Non c’è più tempo per essere redenti per chi in terra non s’è conquistato un pezzetto di Cielo.
Il Cristo del mio Giudizio ha poco a che fare con l’iconografia classica che fino a quel momento ha lo ha riprodotto magrolino e con la barba. Ho preferito rappresentarlo pieno di vigore per aumentare la sua autorevolezza visiva. Dal suo volto non traspare ira perché Lui tornerà solo per far giustizia.
La Madre si ripara all’ombra del braccio alzato e con sguardo compassionevole guarda l’umanità in viaggio verso il Paradiso. Alla destra di Cristo tutte le figure salgono verso l’alto mentre dall’altra parte se ne vanno dritte agli Inferi. A mettere in moto questo movimento in senso orario è proprio il gesto del Cristo.
Vi lascio con quest’immagine e me ne torno a vagare sotto la pioggia con la certezza che il tempo che rimane è sempre meno.

Christ Judge of the Last Judgment
Christ looks at humanity that is falling into hell, pulled and coveted by demons. He raises his right arm and judges the living from the dead, those who will be able to enter the heavenly ways and those who will be damned forever. There is no more time to be redeemed for those on earth who have not conquered a piece of Heaven.
The Christ of my Judgment has little to do with the classic iconography that until then has reproduced him thin and bearded. I preferred to represent him full of vigor to increase his visual authority. Do not show anger from his face because he will return only to do justice.
The Mother takes shelter in the shadow of the raised arm and with compassionate gaze she looks at humanity on its journey to Heaven. To the right of Christ all the figures rise upwards while on the other side they go straight to the Underworld. It is precisely the gesture of Christ that sets this clockwise movement in motion.
I leave you with this image and I go back to wander in the rain with the certainty that the remaining time is less and less.
