Dopo il grande successo dello scorso anno del Treno di Dante, attivato in occasione dei 700 anni dalla morte del Sommo Poeta, torna anche quest’anno l’interessante progetto promosso dalla regione Emilia Romagna

Il Treno di Dante ripercorrerà la ferrovia transappenninica Faenza-Firenze attiva dal 1893. Non si tratta di un treno a vapore ma ciò non toglie una virgola ai superbi panorami offerti da questa tratta. Si attraversano vecchi vigneti, uliveti, antiche case coloniche e boschi di castagni e faggi attraversando il Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi e il Parco Regionale della Vena del Gesso Romagnola.

Come accennato prima, il Treno di Dante partirà da Firenze tutti i fine settimana a partire dal 4 giugno fino al 30 ottobre.

Il convoglio storico è trainato da un locomotore D445 seguito da tre vetture Centoporte e un vagone dedicato al trasporto delle biciclette. Durante il viaggio la permanenza a bordo sarà allietata dagli assistenti di viaggio che racconteranno la storia dei luoghi in cui Dante dimorò durante il suo esilio e l’influenza che gli stessi hanno avuto sulla sua produzione letteraria.

Gli assistenti avranno anche il compito di fornire tutte le informazioni utili per visitare i luoghi più interessanti a ogni fermata come musei, palazzi, teatri e rocche.

I passeggeri avranno garantito l’ingresso gratuito a tutti questi siti esibendo all’ingresso il biglietto del treno, anche in giorni diversi da quelli in cui hanno effettuato il viaggio.

Le novità del 2022

Nelle giornate di sabato sarà attiva la formula crociera: un nuovo modo per conoscere ed esplorare i territori attraversati dal Treno di Dante.

Tutti i sabati il Treno di Dante effettuerà, oltre alle fermate tecniche, una sosta di 1 ora e 30 minuti a Brisighella oppure a Faenza, a sabati alternati. In fase di acquisto i viaggiatori potranno completare il proprio viaggio scegliendo un’escursione guidata tra le opzioni presenti.

Altra novità del 2022 è la possibilità di scegliere tra i posti in 3^a classe con le caratteristiche sedute in legno e gli arredi di un tempo per un tuffo nel passato, nonché quelli in 1^a e 2^a classe con le sedute in tessuto.

Il costo del biglietto

Il costo del biglietto a singola tratta quest’anno è di 38 euro ed è possibile acquistare anche pacchetti famiglia.

Il biglietto comprende la visita gratuita ai musei e ai monumenti presenti nelle località toccate dal Treno di Dante. Si ha inoltre diritto allo sconto del 10% nei ristoranti e nei locali dei paesi attraversati dalla tratta con tanto di aperitivo in omaggio.

Orari e corse del Treno di Dante 2022

Il servizio è attivo i sabati* e le domeniche dal 4 giugno al 10 luglio e dal 27 agosto al 30 ottobre**. Corsa straordinaria martedì 1 novembre.

*Nelle giornate di sabato il Treno di Dante seguirà la modalità crociera, con sosta di 1 ora e 30 minuti a Brisighella o Faenza, a weekend alternati. La domenica il Treno di Dante effettuerà solamente le fermate di servizio per la salita e la discesa dei passeggeri.

La corsa straordinaria di martedì 1 novembre osserverà la programmazione e gli orari della domenica, con arrivo previsto alle 21.20 a Firenze.

Dante’s Train is back from Saturday 4 June 2022

After the great success of last year’s Dante’s Train, activated on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of the Supreme Poet, the interesting project promoted by the Emilia Romagna region is back again this year

Dante’s Train will retrace the Faenza-Florence trans-Apennine railway which has been in operation since 1893. It is not a steam train but this does not detract from the superb views offered by this route. You pass through old vineyards, olive groves, ancient farmhouses and chestnut and beech woods, crossing the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests and the Regional Park of the Vena del Gesso Romagnola.

As mentioned before, Dante’s Train will depart from Florence every weekend starting from 4th June until 30th October.

The historic convoy is pulled by a D445 locomotive followed by three Centoporte cars and a wagon dedicated to transporting bicycles. During the journey, the stay on board will be enlivened by the travel assistants who will tell the story of the places where Dante lived during his exile and the influence they had on his literary production.

The assistants will also have the task of providing all the useful information to visit the most interesting places at each stop such as museums, palaces, theaters and fortresses.

Passengers will have guaranteed free admission to all these sites by showing the train ticket at the entrance, even on days other than those on which they made the trip.

The news of 2022

On Saturdays the cruise formula will be active: a new way to get to know and explore the territories crossed by Dante’s Train.

Every Saturday the Dante Train will make, in addition to the technical stops, a stop of 1 hour and 30 minutes in Brisighella or Faenza, on alternate Saturdays. During the purchase phase, travelers will be able to complete their trip by choosing a guided excursion from the options available.

Another novelty for 2022 is the possibility to choose between seats in 3rd class with the characteristic wooden seats and furnishings of the past for a dip in the past, as well as those in 1st and 2nd class with seats in fabric.

The cost of the ticket

The cost of the single-leg ticket this year is 38 euros and it is also possible to purchase family packages.

The ticket includes a free visit to the museums and monuments in the localities touched by Dante’s Train. You are also entitled to a 10% discount in restaurants and clubs in the towns crossed by the route, complete with a complimentary aperitif.

Schedules and rides for the Dante Train 2022

The service is active on Saturdays * and Sundays from 4th June to 10th July and from 27th August to 30th October **. Extraordinary race Tuesday 1st November.

• On Saturdays Dante’s Train will follow the cruise mode, with a stop of 1 hour and 30 minutes in Brisighella or Faenza, at alternating weekends. On Sunday the Dante Train will only make the service stops for the boarding and alighting of passengers.

The extraordinary race on Tuesday 1 November will observe the programming and timetables on Sunday, with arrival scheduled at 21.20 in Florence.
