Un incendio ha colpito questa mattina lo storico Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Niccolò Machiavelli di Firenze, causando danni agli uffici amministrativi e della didattica ospitati al primo piano dello storico Palazzo Rinuccini, sede centrale della scuola in via di Santo Spirito.

Il rogo è scattato intorno alle 7:30, quando una squadra dei Vigili del Fuoco è intervenuta per domare le fiamme. L’incendio è stato rapidamente spento, evitando che potesse propagarsi ad altri ambienti del complesso storico.

Le fiamme hanno interessato due locali particolarmente importanti per la vita dell’istituto: l’ufficio amministrativo e l’ufficio della didattica.

L’intervento tempestivo dei Vigili del Fuoco ha permesso di contenere l’emergenza, ma i due ambienti hanno riportato danni significativi. All’interno degli uffici erano presenti anche elementi decorativi di pregio, tra cui affreschi storici, che risultano coinvolti dalle conseguenze dell’incendio.

Sul posto sono arrivate anche le forze dell’ordine per effettuare i primi rilievi. Sono in corso le indagini per stabilire le cause del rogo e ricostruire l’esatta dinamica dell’accaduto.

L’edificio rappresenta uno dei luoghi di maggior valore storico e artistico del quartiere di Oltrarno, grazie alla presenza di numerosi ambienti decorati con affreschi e apparati artistici risalenti a diversi periodi storici.

Il timore principale dopo l’incendio riguarda proprio la possibile compromissione di alcune decorazioni interne, patrimonio artistico custodito all’interno della scuola.

Una delle sale più suggestive dell’edificio, con pareti e soffitti completamente affrescati con paesaggi naturali che creano un collegamento ideale con il giardino esterno.

All’interno del complesso scolastico si trova anche il Teatro Rinuccini, un piccolo gioiello del Settecento ricavato da un’antica biblioteca di famiglia.

Il teatro è stato recentemente restaurato con l’obiettivo di recuperare gli antichi apparati decorativi e valorizzare uno spazio storico unico nel panorama fiorentino.

Dopo lo spegnimento delle fiamme, tecnici e autorità stanno procedendo con le verifiche per valutare l’entità dei danni e individuare l’origine dell’incendio.
