L’arte dei papi: da Perugino a Barocci a Castel Sant’Angelo
Castel Sant’Angelo si prepara ad accogliere una mostra che aprirà i battenti al pubblico il 6 marzo, giorno del mio 550° compleanno: ‘L’arte dei papi: da Perugino a Barocci’.
L’esposizione, organizzata nell’anno del Giubileo2025 si propone di esplorare e approfondire temi evangelici cruciali come l’infanzia, il perdono e la resurrezione, che sono centrali nella tradizione cristiana e nella vita dei credenti.
‘L’arte dei papi: da Perugino a Barocci’
L’esposizione è organizzata dal Centro Europeo per il Turismo e la Cultura in collaborazione con Castel Sant’Angelo, e sarà aperta dal 6 marzo al 31 agosto 2025 in occasione dell’anno giubilare.
L’obiettivo della mostra è di ricreare un ambiente in cui i visitatori possano non solo osservare le opere d’arte, ma anche immergersi in una riflessione profonda sul tema spirituale.
Le opere presentate provengono da una cospicua selezione di artisti rinomati, tra cui figure storiche come Andrea del Sarto, Giovanni Gerolamo Savoldo e Federico Barocci. Tali artisti hanno saputo tradurre in immagini potenti l’emozione, la spiritualità e i messaggi universali dell’umanità, offrendo uno sguardo evocativo sulla vita e le esperienze umane.
La mostra sarà strutturata in diverse sezioni, ognuna dedicata a uno dei temi principali, per permettere al pubblico un approccio graduale e meditativo. In ogni sezione verranno allestiti anche supporti multimediali che contestualizzeranno il materiale artistico, offrendo una narrazione che culminerà nel far comprendere l’importanza di tali temi anche nella società contemporanea.
La scelta curatoriale effettuata da Arnaldo Colasanti e Annamaria Bava è indirizzata a creare un connubio tra l’arte e l’interpretazione dei messaggi che queste opere veicolano.
L’intento è quello di stimolare una connessione emotiva tra il visitatore e l’opera, invitando il pubblico a una riflessione personale e collettiva sui significati che si celano dietro le immagini sacre e i racconti evocati.

The Art of the Popes: From Perugino to Barocci at Castel Sant’Angelo
Castel Sant’Angelo is preparing to host an exhibition that will open its doors to the public on March 6, the day of my 550th birthday.
The exhibition, organized in the year of the Jubilee 2025, aims to explore and deepen crucial evangelical themes such as childhood, forgiveness and resurrection, which are central to the Christian tradition and the life of believers.
‘The Art of the Popes: From Perugino to Barocci’
The exhibition is organized by the European Center for Tourism and Culture in collaboration with Castel Sant’Angelo, and will be open from March 6 to August 31, 2025 on the occasion of the Jubilee year.
The aim of the exhibition is to recreate an environment in which visitors can not only observe the works of art, but also immerse themselves in a profound reflection on the spiritual theme.
The works presented come from a large selection of renowned artists, including historical figures such as Andrea del Sarto, Giovanni Gerolamo Savoldo and Federico Barocci. These artists have been able to translate the emotion, spirituality and universal messages of humanity into powerful images, offering an evocative look at life and human experiences.
The exhibition will be structured into different sections, each dedicated to one of the main themes, to allow the public a gradual and meditative approach. In each section, multimedia supports will also be set up to contextualize the artistic material, offering a narrative that will culminate in making people understand the importance of these themes even in contemporary society.
The curatorial choice made by Arnaldo Colasanti and Annamaria Bava is aimed at creating a union between art and the interpretation of the messages that these works convey.
The aim is to stimulate an emotional connection between the visitor and the work, inviting the public to a personal and collective reflection on the meanings that lie behind the sacred images and the stories evoked.
