Padova sta per accogliere una grande mostra dedicata al padre dell’Impressionismo: Claude Monet. 

Saranno oltre cinquanta i capolavori che arriveranno direttamente in Italia dal Musée Marmottan Monet di Parigi per ripercorrere la storia di uno dei più grandi artisti di sempre come per esempio le celeberrime Ninfee, gli Iris, i paesaggi londinesi e tanti altri.

“Monet. Capolavori dal Musée Marmottan Monet di Parigi” aprirà i battenti al pubblico a Padova a partire dal 9 marzo 2024. Sarà una mostra imperdibile per diverse ragioni e una di queste è che alcune opere proposte non non saranno più per lungo tempo disponibili per un’esposizione in Italia.

I dipinti proposti nel percorso espositivo saranno quelli abitualmente custoditi nel Musée Marmottan Monet donati dal figlio Michel nel 1966.

Sono le opere a cui l’artista era più legato che aveva conservato gelosamente nella sua casa di Giverny fino alla morte.

Fra i capolavori esposti saranno presenti il Ritratto di Michel Monet con berretto a pompon (1880), Il treno nella neve. La locomotiva (1875), Londra. Parlamento. Riflessi sul Tamigi (1905), oltre a tutte le opere di grandi dimensioni come le eteree Ninfee (1917-1920) e gli evanescenti Glicini (1919-1920).

La mostra, promossa dal Comune di Padova, è prodotta ed organizzata da Arthemisia in collaborazione con il Musée Marmottan Monet di Parigi ed è curata da Sylvie Carlier, curatrice generale del Musée Marmottan Monet, con la co-curatela della storica dell’arte Marianne Mathieu e l’assistente alla curatela del Musée Marmottan Monet Aurélie Gavoille.

Padua: the great exhibition dedicated to Mone arrives

Padua is about to welcome a major exhibition dedicated to the father of Impressionism: Claude Monet.

There will be over fifty masterpieces that will arrive directly in Italy from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris to retrace the history of one of the greatest artists of all time such as the famous Water Lilies, Irises, London landscapes and many others.

“Monet. Masterpieces from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris” will open its doors to the public in Padua starting from 9 March 2024. It will be an unmissable exhibition for several reasons and one of these is that some proposed works will no longer be available for exhibition for a long time in Italy.

The paintings proposed in the exhibition will be those usually kept in the Musée Marmottan Monet donated by his son Michel in 1966.

They are the works to which the artist was most attached that he had jealously preserved in his house in Giverny until his death.

Among the masterpieces on display will be the Portrait of Michel Monet with a pompom hat (1880), The Train in the Snow. The Locomotive (1875), London. Parliament. Reflections on the Thames (1905), as well as all the large-scale works such as the ethereal Water Lilies (1917-1920) and the evanescent Glicini (1919-1920).

The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Padua, is produced and organized by Arthemisia in collaboration with the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris and is curated by Sylvie Carlier, general curator of the Musée Marmottan Monet, with the co-curation of the art historian Marianne Mathieu and Musée Marmottan Monet assistant curator Aurélie Gavoille.
