Inauguration of the Rampe made by Poggi: water returns but the party is postponed
At 16.00 today, 18 May 2019, the water that feeds the tanks and caves on the Roggi del Poggi will return to gush.
A big party was planned with several side events but unfortunately, due to bad weather, it was postponed.
The restoration that has just concluded has involved the complex of the Ramps and the Basins that connect Porta San Niccolò to Piazzale Michelangelo. A restoration that served to put the succession of waterfalls, the furnishings, the superb views with views and the paths at the center of attention.
The complex was conceived by the architect Giuseppe Poggi but over time, having not undergone continuous maintenance, it had deteriorated a lot. The Ramps were built between 1872 and 1876 and include six caves covered with plaster and sponges, the large pool formed by different basins, cliffs, smaller caves and different paths.
