A Milano, dopo un tour di enorme successo, giacciono in deposito gli straordinari sette arazzi di Capodimonte che illustrano la Battaglia del 1525, in attesa di essere trasportati a Pavia l’8 settembre.

A partire dal 19 settembre, i mirabili arazzi verranno esposti al pubblico nell’ala est del castello dei Musei Civici di Pavia, nell’ambito di una mostra denominata ‘Pavia 1525: le arti nel Rinascimento e gli arazzi della battaglia’.

L’esposizione offrirà ai visitatori l’opportunità unica di confrontarsi con l’arte rinascimentale, che ha avuto un impatto significativo sulla cultura e la storia dell’epoca. La conservatrice dei musei, Laura Aldovini, ha sottolineato l’importanza di quest’esposizione, evidenziando come rappresenti un passo fondamentale per la valorizzazione dell’arte rinascimentale a Pavia.

Non si tratterà solo degli arazzi: la mostra presenterà altre opere di grande interesse, tra cui la Pala Bottigella di Vincenzo Foppa, che è una delle opere più note dell’arte rinascimentale lombarda, e un polittico di Antonio Bergognone, che riflette la raffinatezza e la complessità dell’arte religiosa del tempo. A completare l’esperienza, saranno inclusi lavori diagnostici che mostrano il processo di restauro e preservazione di questi capolavori, nonché il coro ligneo restaurato della ex chiesa di San Marino, un altro esempio di arte e artigianato del periodo.

The Capodimonte Tapestries in Pavia: the major exhibition ‘Pavia 1525’

After a hugely successful tour, the extraordinary seven Capodimonte tapestries illustrating the Battle of 1525 are in storage in Milan, awaiting their transport to Pavia on September 8th.

Beginning September 19th, the magnificent tapestries will be on public display in the east wing of the castle of the Civic Museums of Pavia, as part of an exhibition entitled ‘Pavia 1525: The Arts of the Renaissance and the Battle Tapestries’.

This event will offer visitors a unique opportunity to engage with Renaissance art, which had a significant impact on the culture and history of the era. Museum curator Laura Aldovini emphasized the importance of this exhibition, emphasizing how it represents a fundamental step in the promotion of Renaissance art in Pavia.
