Ad Arezzo, città natale del mio caro amico Giorgio Vasari, si stanno preparando le celebrazioni dei 450 anni dalla morte dell’artista di corte di Cosimo I de’ Medici nonché celeberrimo biografo.

Vasari morì in quel di Firenze il 27 giugno del 1574 e nel 2024 saranno trascorsi esattamente 450 anni dalla sua dipartita dal vostro mondo.

Per ricordarlo la città di Arezzo ha in preparazione una grande mostra e numerosi eventi collaterali che avranno inizio proprio in quella data che segnò la fine dell’uomo e la nascita del mito.

Per l’occasione arriveranno in città diverse opere dai grandi musei e prestiti da collezioni private necessarie per allestire il percorso espositivo nella Galleria di Arte Contemporanea a San Francesco, nel cuore di Arezzo.

Nel frattempo ha già avuto inizio l’iter necessario per l’acquisizione dei prestiti a cura di Cristina Acidini e Carlo Sisi.

La mostra sarà affiancata da un percorso di visita delle opere del Vasari amovibili presenti in provincia di Arezzo e in quella di Firenze. Saranno coinvolte le città di Cortona, Castiglion Fiorentino e Monte San Savino.

Altro tassello dell’anno delle celebrazioni vasariane saranno gli scritti dell’artista come le lettere e altri fogli per altro sottoposti al momento alla digitalizzazione.

Attendiamo dunque ulteriori sviluppi e di conoscere nel dettaglio le opere che verranno proposte al pubblico nella mostra dedicata ai 450 anni dalla morte di Giorgio Vasari.
