Ebbene, fu Sigismondo Fanti colui che prima degli altri volle disegnarmi intento a scolpire una figura femminile in cui si riconosce per sommi capi l’Aurora. Dinnanzi al mio capo si vede la scritta Micheal Firoentino.

Il disegno è tratto dal Trionfo della Fortuna, il secondo libro illustrato di chiromanzia che fu pubblicato dopo il celebre Libro della Ventura di Lorenzo Spirito, edito nel 1482.

Il libro di Fanti fu pubblicato a Venezia nel 1526 e deve essere adoperato dal lettore come un gioco. Chi lo consulta deve seguire le figure della Fortuna da scegliere mediante il lancio dei dadi. Una cosa assai stramba insomma.
