A partire dal 3 febbraio, tutti i sabati sabato, i depositi dei Musei Civici Fiorentini ubicati all’interno del complesso di Santa Maria Novella, saranno visitabili al pubblico

I nuovi depositi visitabili dei Musei Civici Fiorentini, che hanno trovato casa nel complesso di Santa Maria Novella, all’interno di uno spazio allestito in modo da rendere fruibili un gran numero di opere, finora rimaste celate al pubblico per mancanza di spazi adeguati.

l patrimonio artistico comunale annovera migliaia di beni mobili suddivisi in raccolte, in parte esposte nei diversi musei civici della città o conservate negli annessi depositi e in parte smembrate e ricoverate in sedi provvisorie, nell’attesa di un luogo nel quale potessero essere riunite e riordinate.

Così è stato deciso di destinare parte degli ampi ambienti del complesso di Santa Maria Novella a un progetto originale che consentisse non solo di raccogliere grandi quantitativi di opere d’arte in condizioni ottimali di conservazione, ma anche di renderli fruibili per i cittadini.

Tra gli artisti esposti ci sono Fontana, Guttuso, Carrà, De Pisis, Mafai, Cagli, Morandi.

Le visite guidate, curate da MUS.E sono in programma ogni sabato del mese a partire dal 3 febbraio (alle 10, alle 11 e alle 12) e daranno la possibilità di scoprire non solo le opere che vi sono conservate, ma anche il ‘dietro le quinte’ del funzionamento di un moderno deposito museale.

In questa prima fase sono già state sistemate circa 300 opere appartenenti alla raccolta Alberto Della Ragione e ad altri nuclei delle Collezioni del Novecento.

A queste andranno progressivamente ad aggiungersi: la rimanente parte delle collezioni novecentesche, funzionali alle rotazioni espositive del vicino Museo Novecento, le sinopie del ciclo di affreschi del Chiostro Verde di Santa Maria Novella, alcune raccolte ottocentesche, tra le quali quella dell’ex Museo del Risorgimento e il legato di Icilio Cappellini comprendente dipinti dei Macchiaioli, le opere non esposte dell’ex Museo storico-topografico Firenze com’era e un’ampia rassegna di marmi, gessi e reperti lapidei di varia provenienza, per un totale stimato di circa 4.500 beni.

I depositi occupano una superficie di 1100 metri quadrati, disposti su tre piani. 

Al piano terra gli ambienti consistono in una grande sala voltata di 290 metri quadrati che ospita la ‘Galleria delle sculture’ allestita con pedane, basamenti, mensole e scaffalature per statue, busti, e materiali lapidei vari.

Gli ambienti di deposito al primo piano hanno una superficie di 650 metri quadrati circa distribuiti in nove sale. Nelle due sale più ampie sono state realizzate delle imponenti strutture metalliche autoportanti in parte già attrezzate con grandi pannelli grigliati a scorrimento, bifacciali, che garantiscono l’appendimento dei dipinti su entrambi i lati.

Nelle altre sale sono state previste ulteriori attrezzature espositive e conservative, non solo griglie, ma anche cassettiere e scaffalature per collocare manufatti eterogenei. Completano gli ambienti di deposito ulteriori spazi destinati alle funzioni di ufficio e di laboratorio per interventi di manutenzione.

Biglietti: intero € 6,00, ridotto € 3,00 per 18-25 anni e studenti universitari, gratuito per minori di 18 anni, guide turistiche e interpreti, giornalisti, disabili e rispettivi accompagnatori, possessori Card del Fiorentino, membri ICOM, ICOMOS, ICCROM); non è incluso l’accesso al complesso di Santa Maria Novella.

The new visitable deposits of the Florentine Civic Museums, which have found a home in the Santa Maria Novella complex, within a space set up in such a way as to make accessible a large number of works, which until now have remained hidden from the public due to lack of adequate spaces.

The municipal artistic heritage includes thousands of movable assets divided into collections, partly exhibited in the various civic museums of the city or preserved in the annexed warehouses and partly dismembered and stored in temporary locations, awaiting a place in which they could be reunited and rearranged. .

Thus it was decided to allocate part of the large rooms of the Santa Maria Novella complex to an original project that would not only allow large quantities of works of art to be collected in optimal conservation conditions, but also to make them accessible to citizens.

Among the artists exhibited there are Fontana, Guttuso, Carrà, De Pisis, Mafai, Cagli, Morandi.

The guided tours, organized by MUS.E, are scheduled every Saturday of the month starting from February 3 (at 10, 11 and 12) and will give the opportunity to discover not only the works preserved there, but also the behind the scenes of the functioning of a modern museum warehouse.

In this first phase, around 300 works belonging to the Alberto Della Ragione collection and other nuclei of the twentieth century collections have already been arranged.

To these will gradually be added: the remaining part of the twentieth-century collections, functional to the exhibition rotations of the nearby Museo Novecento, the synopias of the fresco cycle of the Green Cloister of Santa Maria Novella, some nineteenth-century collections, including that of the former Museo del Risorgimento and the legacy of Icilio Cappellini including paintings by the Macchiaioli, the unexhibited works of the former historical-topographic museum Florence as it was and a large exhibition of marble, plaster and stone finds of various origins, for an estimated total of around 4,500 goods.

The warehouses occupy an area of 1100 square meters, arranged on three floors.
