Hayez: l’officina del pittore romantico in mostra
Sta per arrivare una grande mostra dedicata a Francesco Hayez che proporrà una significativa selezione delle opere più importanti del noto artista veneziano.
C’è gran fermento alla Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino in vista dell’esposizione “Hayez. L’officina del pittore romantico” che aprirà i battenti al pubblico dal 17 ottobre 2023 fino al 1 aprile 2024.
Curata da Fernando Mazzocca ed Elena Lissoni, la mostra sarà incentrata su celebri dipinti dell’artista messi a confronto con i disegni preparatori.
Hayez nato a Venezia il 10 febbraio del 1791, fu il maggior esponente della corrente romantica in Italia. Artista poliedrico e innovatore, lasciò un segno indelebile nella storia dell’arte con le sue memorabili opere come il celeberrimo Bacio.
La mostra “Hayez. L’officina del pittore romantico“ ripercorre l’intero percorso artistico a partire dalla formazione neoclassica a Roma, fra il 1809 e il 1817 al ritorno in terra veneziana fino al trasferimento definitivo a Milano.
Saranno oltre cento le opere proposte, fra dipinti e disegni, provenienti sia da collezioni pubbliche e private proposte in dieci diverse sezioni, organizzate in successione cronologica.
Nel percorso espositivo particolare importanza verrà data al gruppo di studi per la più grande tela dipinta da Hayez e custodita nelle collezioni di Palazzo Reale a Torino: “La sete patita dai primi Crociati sotto Gerusalemme”. Opera commissionata dal re Carlo Alberto di Savoia cominciata nel 1833 e ultimata nel 1850.
La mostra “Hayez. L’officina del pittore romantico“ sarà organizzata dalla GAM Torino, 24 ORE Cultura-Gruppo 24 ORE e Fondazione Torino Musei in collaborazione con l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.

Hayez: the workshop of the romantic painter on display
A major exhibition dedicated to Francesco Hayez is about to arrive, which will offer a significant selection of the most important works by the well-known Venetian artist.
There is great excitement at the Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Turin in view of the exhibition “Hayez. The workshop of the romantic painter” which will open its doors to the public from 17 October 2023 until 1 April 2024.
Curated by Fernando Mazzocca and Elena Lissoni, the exhibition will focus on famous paintings by the artist compared with the preparatory drawings.
Hayez born in Venice on February 10, 1791, was the greatest exponent of the romantic movement in Italy. A multifaceted artist and innovator, he left an indelible mark in the history of art with his memorable works such as the famous Kiss.
The exhibition “Hayez. The workshop of the romantic painter” traces the entire artistic journey starting from the neoclassical training in Rome, between 1809 and 1817 to the return to Venice until the definitive transfer to Milan.
There will be over one hundred works proposed, including paintings and drawings, from both public and private collections proposed in ten different sections organized in chronological succession.
In the exhibition itinerary, particular importance will be given to the study group for the largest canvas painted by Hayez and kept in the collections of Palazzo Reale in Turin: “The thirst suffered by the first Crusaders under Jerusalem”. Work commissioned by King Carlo Alberto of Savoy, begun in 1833 and completed in 1850.
The exhibition “Hayez. The workshop of the romantic painter” will be organized by GAM Torino, 24 ORE Cultura-Gruppo 24 ORE and Fondazione Torino Musei in collaboration with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
