Livorno rende omaggio alla regina delle regine con una mostra fotografica che ha come protagonista l’Amerigo Vespucci, la nave scuola della Marina Militare Italiana.

Dal 3 agosto fino al 30 ottobre del 2022, presso il Museo della Città ai Bottini dell’Olio sarà possibile visitare una rassegna fotografica dal titolo La più bella del mondo che comprende una cinquantina di scatti di Massimo Sestini e Maki Galimberti che mostreranno anche i lati più nascosti e poco noti del celeberrimo veliero varato nel 1931 dai cantieri di Castellammare di Stabia.

L’esposizione è curata da Carla Bardelli e il suo titolo è la frase detta dal il comandante della portaerei USS Independence che incrociò il Vespucci nelle acque del Mediterraneo nel 1962.

Con lampi di luce chiese alla nave di identificarsi e alla risposta “Nave scuola Amerigo Vespucci. Marina Militare italiana” il comandante americano replicò “La nave più bella del mondo”.

La nave scuola Amerigo Vespucci, vanto della Marina Militare italiana, ha una lunghezza di 101 metri e ancora le sue 29 vele di tela olona vengono rigorosamente cucite a mano. Eccellenza italiana nel mondo, ogni volta che ormeggia in un qualsiasi porto e apre le visite al pubblico, viene letteralmente presa d’assalto da centinaia di visitatori.

L’inaugurazione della mostra fotografica La Più Bella del Mondo è prevista il 3 agosto alle ore ore 19.00, in concomitanza con la 34esima edizione di “Effetto Venezia”.

The most beautiful in the world: the exhibition dedicated to Amerigo Vespucci in Livorno

Livorno pays tribute to the queen of queens with a photographic exhibition featuring the Amerigo Vespucci, the training ship of the Italian Navy.

From 3 August until 30 October 2022, at the Museum of the City at Bottini dell’Olio it will be possible to visit a photographic exhibition entitled The most beautiful in the world which includes about fifty shots by Massimo Sestini and Maki Galimberti that will also show the sides more hidden and little known than the famous sailing ship launched in 1931 by the shipyards of Castellammare di Stabia.

The exhibition is curated by Carla Bardelli and its title is the phrase said by the commander of the aircraft carrier USS Independence who crossed the Vespucci in the Mediterranean waters in 1962.
