Lo sapete che zitto non mi riesce proprio stare e non posso non dire la mia anche questa volta. Di cosa sto parlando? Ebbene, da lunedì mattina sarà disponibile un nuovo video animato realizzato da un’idea di Cecilie Hollberg, direttrice della Galleria dell’Accademia.

In questo video il David verrà allenato dai Prigioni per mantenersi sempre in forma.

Ecco cosa si legge nel comunicato stampa: ” Vi siete mai chiesti perché dopo tanti anni il David di Michelangelo sfoggi ancora una splendida forma? David ha un segreto: va in palestra! Ce lo svela il nuovo video animato, da lunedì 20 giugno su Accademia online (DAVID 140 anni in ottima forma), realizzato da un’idea di Cecilie Hollberg, direttore della Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze (..)

(…)Non tutti sanno che questo campione di bellezza, dal fisico statuario, con addominali a tartaruga perfetti, nonostante i suoi 518 anni, tutte le mattine, prima che il museo apra ai visitatori, si sottopone un duro training fisico. I suoi coaches sono i Prigioni che lo allenano quotidianamente…”

Vi pare possibile una cosa simile? A mio parere no. Mi pare davvero che con il pretesto di coinvolgere un pubblico sempre più eterogeneo si stia perdendo la misura.

A quanto pare non sono certo l’unico a pensarla in questo modo.

Ecco il pensiero di Antonio Forcellino a riguardo:

“C’è una questione che davvero non capisco. Michelangelo, gli Uffizi e il David non hanno bisogno di promozione. Al contrario l’enorme domanda dalla quale sono investiti pone un problema di contenimento del consumo turistico. E allora perché mai coinvolgerli in questa volgare prostituzione intellettuale che li degrada?

La direttrice della Galleria dell’Accademia deve essere una persona del tutto ignara del potere delle parole. Le immagini che evoca, palestra-ginnastica-prigioni-training sono altrettante profondissime ferite nella mia visione di quelle sculture.

Leggere quel comunicato è come rovesciare un secchio di spazzatura su quelle statue. I Prigioni sono lo spirito tormentato dell’uomo e non sei giovanotti che si mettono in posa davanti allo specchio. E il David è la bellezza che riflette Dio non una muscolatura appesa agli attrezzi ginnici. Queste parole sono profondamente offensive perché evocano il degrado dello spirito.”

Does such a thing seem possible to you? In my opinion no. It really seems to me that under the pretext of involving an increasingly heterogeneous audience, we are losing the measure.

Apparently I’m certainly not the only one who thinks this way.

Here is Antonio Forcellino’s thought about it:

“There is a question that I really don’t understand. Michelangelo, the Uffizi and the David do not need promotion. On the contrary, the enormous demand from which they are invested poses a problem of limiting tourist consumption. So why on earth involve them in this vulgar intellectual prostitution that degrades them?

The director of the Accademia Gallery must be a person completely unaware of the power of words. The images it evokes, gym-gymnastics-prisons-training are as many very deep wounds in my vision of those sculptures.

Reading that communiqué is like spilling a garbage can on those statues. Prisons are the tormented spirit of man and you are not young men who pose in front of the mirror. And David is the beauty that reflects God not a musculature hanging from the gymnastic equipment. These words are deeply offensive because they evoke the degradation of the spirit. “
