Conclave: tutto quello che bisogna sapere sulla Stanza delle Lacrime
In questi giorni, in vista dell’ormai prossimo Conclave, si sente spesso parlare della Stanza delle Lacrime sui giornali e in tv. Sapete di cosa si tratta? Sedetevi comodi che ve lo racconto.
Dopo l’ultimo scrutinio che porta alla scelta del nuovo pontefice, al cardinale eletto viene domandato se sia disposto o meno ad accettare li gravoso incarico.
Il cardinale, libero di divenire il nuovo papa ma anche di rinunciare alla nomina, nel momento in cui accetta si sente richiedere quale sia il nuovo nome che desidera assumere. Dopo aver scelto il nome da pontefice, il neo eletto viene accompagnato nella Stanza delle Lacrime attigua alla Cappella Sistina.
Quel luogo viene chiamato così perché spesso, il passaggio da cardinale a papa, segna un passaggio drastico nella vita di chi è stato eletto, tanto da portarlo a scoppiare a piangere. Incontenibile è l’emozione e molti soni i timori per le nuove sfide da affrontare.
La vita da papa non è cosa semplice e si hanno costantemente gli occhi del mondo addosso. Il peso delle responsabilità che si devono portare da allora fino al giorno della morte fanno vacillare il pontefice appena eletto.
Per la prima volta, dentro la Stanza delle Lacrime, il papa verrà vestito di bianco per essere poi condotto fino alla Loggia delle Benedizioni.
Il cardinale protodiacono annuncia alla folla radunata in Piazza San Pietro e al mondo intero il tanto atteso Habemus Papam.
Il nuovo pontefice si affaccia e dopo un breve discorso impartisce la prima benedizione Urbi et Orbi.
