Michelangelo 550: il ritratto che mi fece un anonimo pittore
In occasione dell’anniversario del mio 550 compleanno, vi propongo oggi un dipinto che mi dispiace dirvi di non avere a colori o meglio, ho solo una foto in bianco e nero.
L’opera realizzata da un artista anonimo attorno al 1580, sembra derivare dal ritratto che mi fece Jacopino del Conte e fa parte di una serie di miei ritratti che vennero concessi a Casa Buonarroti come depositi delle Gallerie Fiorentine nel 1853.
L’artista volle ritrarmi mentre tengo con la mano sinistra un compasso e mi appoggio al tavolo dove sono posizionati il calamaio, un modello maschile e una tavolozza.
Esistono diversi di dipinti che mi ritraggono con gli attrezzi del mestiere in mano, mentre guardo lo spettatore negli occhi.
In questo caso l’anonimo pittore volle darmi un aspetto malinconico, una caratteristica che mi calzava a pennello.

Michelangelo 550: the portrait made by an anonymous painter
On the occasion of the anniversary of my 550th birthday, today I propose a painting that I regret to tell you I do not have in color or rather, only a black and white photo.
The work created by an anonymous artist seems to derive from the portrait that Jacopino del Conte made of me and is part of a series of my portraits that were granted to Casa Buonarroti as deposits of the Florentine Galleries in 1853.
The artist wanted to portray me while I am holding a compass in my left hand and leaning on the table where the inkwell, a male model and a palette are positioned.
There are several paintings that portray me with the tools of the trade in my hand, while I look the viewer in the eye.
In this case the anonymous painter wanted to give me a melancholic look, a characteristic that suited me like a glove.
