Nella Festa del Battesimo del Signore, questa mattina Papa Francesco ha battezzato 21 bambini, figli dei dipendenti vaticani.

“E’ importante che i bambini si sentano bene. Se hanno fame, allattateli, se hanno freddo cambiateli”, ha esordito con queste parole il pontefice, prima di iniziare la cerimonia del Battesimo al di sotto delle origini del mondo e dinanzi al Giudizio Universale che affrescai diversi anni dopo, su commissione di papa Clemente VII.

Tra un pianto e un sorriso, un canto e il sonno profondo dei bambini più piccoli, papa Francesco nel giorno del Battesimo del Signore affrescato anche dal Perugino nel secondo registro della Sistina, ha dato il primo Sacramento ai bambini nell’anno giubilare 2025.

On the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, this morning Pope Francis baptized 21 children, children of Vatican employees.
