Il grande fotografo Aurelio Amendola torna ad esporre i suoi mirabili scatti a Firenze, in una mostra a me dedicata curata da Antonio Natali.

“Aurelio Amendola per Michelangelo. Il primato dell’informale” aprirà gratuitamente al pubblico dal 13 novembre 2024 fino al 5 gennaio 2025, al Rifugio Digitale.

L’esposizione sarà organizzata in collaborazione con Forma Edizioni e verrà inaugurata mercoledì 13 novembre alle ore 18.30 alla presenza dell’artista Aurelio Amendola e del curatore Antonio Natali, per me amatissimo direttore degli Uffizi.

L’obiettivo della macchina fotografica di Amendola studia a distanza ravvicinata le differenti fasi della lavorazione del marmo sulle mie opere, con uno sguardo capace di esaltare il dettaglio materico ma anche l’astrazione.

Se amate la scultura questa mostra fa al caso vostro. Le fotografie di Amendola svelano dettagli incredibili e consentono finanche di leggere, tra gli straordinari tagli di ombre e luci, la mia grafia sul marmo.

Tra le foto esposte, anche quelle scattate alla Pietà Bandini, dopo il recente restauro.

Le fotografie esposte al Rifugio Digitale, svelano imperfezioni e abrasioni della superficie, creando una narrazione visiva in grado di celebrare la bellezza che va ben al di là del visibile.

“Aurelio Amendola per Michelangelo. Il primato dell’Informale” è un dialogo tra me e Amendola passando attraverso il marmo.

Aurelio Amendola for Michelangelo: new exhibition in Florence curated by Natali

The great photographer Aurelio Amendola returns to exhibit his wonderful shots in Florence, in an exhibition dedicated to me curated by Antonio Natali.

“Aurelio Amendola for Michelangelo. The primacy of the informal” will be open to the public free of charge from November 13, 2024 until January 5, 2025, at Rifugio Digitale.

The exhibition will be organized in collaboration with Forma Edizioni and will be inaugurated on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30 pm in the presence of the artist Aurelio Amendola and the curator Antonio Natali, for me the beloved director of the Uffizi.

The lens of Amendola’s camera studies the different phases of the marble processing on my works at close range, with a gaze capable of enhancing the material detail but also the abstraction.

If you love sculpture, this exhibition is for you. Amendola’s photographs reveal incredible details and even allow you to read, among the extraordinary cuts of shadows and lights, my handwriting on the marble.

Among the photos on display, there are also those taken at the Pietà Bandini, after the recent restoration.

The photographs on display at the Rifugio Digitale reveal imperfections and abrasions of the surface, creating a visual narrative capable of celebrating the beauty that goes far beyond the visible.
