Per gloria dell’arte et honor degli Artefici: Vasari scrittore e artista immortale nella mostra di Arezzo
Apre oggi 3 maggio ad Arezzo la mostra “Per gloria dell’arte et honor degli Artefici: Vasari scrittore e artista immortale”curata da Elisa Boffa.
Manoscritti, stampe, testi antichi e molto altro ancora per raccontare il mio caro amico Giorgio Vasari nell’anniversario dei 450 anni dalla sua morte.
La mostra sarà il primo evento inaugurale il programma espositivo “Arezzo. La città di Vasari” che prevede dieci mostre e allestimenti tematici per celebrare la figura del pittore, architetto e del biografo degli artisti più studiato in assoluto.
I testi e i manoscritti esposti sono stati sapientemente scelti per ricostruire sia l’esistenza che l’attività lavorativa del Vasari, cercando fra quelli presenti nella sola Biblioteca di Arezzo.
“ La principale caratteristica innovativa della mostra è che tutti i materiali esposti come stampe, manoscritti e libri antichi e moderni, provengono esclusivamente dalla Biblioteca che quindi non ha usufruito del prestito da altri enti conservativi. Al contrario quando la mostra in biblioteca sarà finita alcuni di questi testi saranno dati in prestito ad altri enti per la realizzazione delle loro esposizioni”.

La mostra “Per gloria dell’arte et honor degli Artefici: Vasari scrittore e artista immortale” è suddivisa in cinque differenti sezioni:
Verranno esposti manoscritti, stampe e libri antichi e moderni che fanno parte dell’ingente patrimonio documentale di questa istituzione. L’esposizione sarà divisa in cinque sezioni.
1-“Le origini di Giorgio: famiglia e formazione”
2-“Vasari architetto e pittore”
3-“Le Vite un best-seller dell’epoca moderna”
4-“Altri scritti dell’artista”
5-“Ad imperitura memoria”

The exhibition “For the glory of art and honor of the Artificers: Vasari the immortal writer and artist” curated by Elisa Boffa opens today 3 May in Arezzo.
Manuscripts, prints, ancient texts and much more to tell the story of my dear friend Giorgio Vasari on the 450th anniversary of his death.
The exhibition will be the first inaugural event of the “Arezzo. The city of Vasari” which includes ten exhibitions and thematic installations to celebrate the figure of the most studied painter, architect and biographer of artists of all.
The texts and manuscripts on display were expertly chosen to reconstruct both Vasari’s existence and working activity, searching among those present in the Library of Arezzo alone.
“ The main innovative feature of the exhibition is that all the materials on display such as prints, manuscripts and ancient and modern books come exclusively from the Library which therefore did not benefit from loans from other conservation bodies. On the contrary, when the exhibition in the library is finished, some of these texts will be loaned to other institutions for the creation of their exhibitions”.

The exhibition “For Gloria dell’Arte et Honor degli Artifici: Vasari Immortal Writer and Artist” is divided into five different sections:
Ancient and modern manuscripts, prints and books that are part of the enormous documentary heritage of this institution will be exhibited. The exhibition will be divided into five sections.
1-“Giorgio’s origins: family and education”
2-“Vasari architect and painter”
3-“The Lives a best-seller of the modern era”
4-“Other writings by the artist”
5-“To everlasting memory”
