Le Gallerie Estensi di Modena presentano “Ter Brugghen. Dall’Olanda all’Italia sulle orme di Caravaggio”: la prima grande mostra italiana dedicata al pittore olandese Hendrick ter Brugghen.

Hendrick ter Brugghen, nato nel 1588, fu uno dei più importanti esponenti della pittura olandese del XVII secolo. La sua produzione artistica, influenzata dalle opere di Caravaggio, lo portò ad abbracciare uno stile naturalista e tenebroso, caratterizzato da uno straordinario uso della luce e da una rappresentazione realistica dei soggetti.
La mostra si propone di esplorare la fase italiana della carriera di Ter Brugghen, durante la quale l’artista si trasferì nell’Italia settentrionale per studiare le opere dei grandi maestri italiani dell’epoca, tra cui Caravaggio e i suoi seguaci. The Estensi Galleries of Modena present “Ter Brugghen. From Holland to Italy in the footsteps of Caravaggio”: the first major Italian exhibition dedicated to the Dutch painter Hendrick ter Brugghen.
