Sono sempre stato curioso e attratto dall’apprendere cose nuove o approfondire quelle che già sapevo.

Una cosa più di tutte però mi affascinava: il talento. E’ vero che delle amicizie di cui mi circondavo mi interessava l’aspetto e amavo guardare i tratti dei volti più espressivi ma è altrettanto vero che sentivo un’irrefrenabile attrazione per i talenti, quasiasi essi fossero.

Doni di Dio che poi venivano coltivati giorno per giorno fino a farsi carne e ad aprirsi strade dinnanzi.

Non c’è niente di più bello che riuscire a far tesoro di ciò che si ha e di chi si è.

Fui il più inclinato huomo all’amar le persone che mai in alcun tempo nascesse.

Se desiderate farvi un’idea di quanto fossi attratto dalla bellezza nel senso più ampio del termine e dai talenti, vi propongo quanto il Giannotti mi fece pronunciare nei suoi Dialoghi.

“Io sono il più inclinato huomo all’amar le persone che mai in alcun tempo nascesse. Qualunche volta io veggio alcuno che habbia qualche virtù, che mostri qualche destrezza d’ingegno, che sappia fare o dire qualche cosa più acconciamente che gli altri, io sono costretto ad innamorarmi di lui, et me gli do in maniera in preda, che io non sono più mio, ma tutto suo.

Se io, dunque, venissi a desinare con voi, essendo tutti ornati di virtù et gentilezze, oltre a quello che ciascuno di voi tre qui mi ha rubato, ciascuno di coloro che si trovasse a desinare me ne torrebbe una parte: un’altra me ne torrebbe il sonatore, un’altra colui che ballasse,et così ciascun degli altri n’harebbe la parte sua. Talché io, credendo per rallegrarmi con voi recuperarmi et rinnovarmi, sì come voi diceste, io tutto quanto mi smarrirei et perderei: di sorte che poi, per molti giorni, io non saprei in qual  modo mi fussi”

I have always been curious and attracted to learning new things or deepening what I already knew.

But one thing most of all fascinated me: talent. It is true that I was interested in the appearance of the friendships with which I surrounded myself and I loved looking at the most expressive features of the faces but it is equally true that I felt an irrepressible attraction for talents, whatever they were.
