Cristo completamete privo di vesti fluttua verso l’alto, mentre il sudario viene trasportato verso il cielo senza coprire minimamente le fattezze del Salvatore. Le braccia e i piedi incrociati sembrano suggerire un movimento verso l’alto che non dipende da Cristo ma da una volontà superiore e invisibile.

La figura aggraziata del Cristo è in netto contrasto con le figure in basso, spaventate dall’egvento che si sta svolgendo sotto i loro occhi. I soldati hanno dimensioni ridotte rispetto alla figura centrale.

Il Goldshider ipotizzò che questo disegno fosse stato realizzato su commissione per un non definito cliente. Di resurrezioni che propongono lo stesso soggetto con variazioni più o meno grandi, ne esistono dodici e posono essere divise in due gruppi principali: quelle che ben descrivono tutta la scena con i soldati e quelle che invece si concentrano esclusivamente sullo studio di Cristo che, uscendo dal sarcofago, ascende al cielo.

The resurrection of Christ of the British

Christ completely without clothes floats upwards, while the shroud is transported to the sky without covering in any way the features of the Savior. The crossed arms and feet seem to suggest a movement upwards that does not depend on Christ but on a higher and invisible will.

The graceful figure of Christ is in stark contrast to the figures below, frightened by the event taking place under their eyes. The soldiers are smaller than the central figure.

Goldshider hypothesized that this design had been commissioned for an undefined customer. Of resurrections that propose the same subject with more or less large variations, there are twelve of them and can be divided into two main groups: those that well describe the whole scene with the soldiers and those that instead concentrate exclusively on the study of Christ who, going out from the sarcophagus, ascends to the sky.
