L’8 dicembre torna a Roma la Mostra Internazionale “100 Presepi in Vaticano”, uno degli eventi natalizi più attesi nella capitale.

Giunta alla VII edizione, l’esposizione è allestita al di sotto del Colonnato di sinistra del Bernini in Piazza San Pietro, e presenta presepi provenienti da tutto il mondo, realizzati da artisti, scuole, associazioni e artigiani.

Un’edizione dedicata al tema della speranza

Il filo conduttore della mostra 2025-2026 è “La speranza che non delude”, ispirato alla Bolla d’Indizione del Giubileo 2025. I presepi in esposizione interpretano questo tema attraverso materiali, tecniche e linguaggi artistici differenti: dai presepi tradizionali in legno e terracotta fino alle creazioni contemporanee e alle installazioni provenienti da culture extraeuropee.

Inaugurazione l’8 dicembre 2025

L’inaugurazione della mostra, aperta al pubblico, si terrà domenica 8 dicembre alle ore 16.00 e sarà presieduta da Mons. Rino Fisichella, pro-prefetto del Dicastero per l’Evangelizzazione. L’evento è realizzato in collaborazione con il Comune di Roma Capitale e sarà accompagnato da musiche natalizie eseguite dal Coro della Scuola francese Chateaubriand e dalla banda della Gendarmeria Vaticana.

La Mostra “100 Presepi in Vaticano” sarà visitabile dall’8 dicembre 2025 al 6 gennaio 2026, con ingresso gratuito e senza necessità di prenotazione.

• Inaugurazione (8 dicembre): dalle 16.00
• 24 e 31 dicembre: chiusura anticipata alle 17.00

100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican 2025-2026: Dates, Times, and Free Admission to the Exhibition in Rome

On December 8th, the International Exhibition “100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican” returns to Rome, one of the capital’s most anticipated Christmas events. Now in its seventh edition, the exhibition is set up beneath Bernini’s left colonnade in St. Peter’s Square and features nativity scenes from around the world, created by artists, schools, associations, and artisans.

An edition dedicated to the theme of hope

The underlying theme of the 2025-2026 exhibition is “The Hope That Does Not Disappoint,” inspired by the Bull of Indiction of the Jubilee of 2025. The nativity scenes on display interpret this theme through a variety of materials, techniques, and artistic languages: from traditional wooden and terracotta nativity scenes to contemporary creations and installations from non-European cultures.

Opening on December 8, 2025

The exhibition, open to the public, will be inaugurated on Sunday, December 8, at 4:00 PM and will be presided over by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization. The event is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome and will feature Christmas music performed by the Chateaubriand French School Choir and the Vatican Gendarmerie Band.

The “100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican” exhibition will be open to the public from December 8, 2025, to January 6, 2026. Admission is free and no reservations are required.
