Battuto a oltre 200mila dollari un mio minuscolo schizzo
Un mio piccolo disegno di un blocco di marmo di forma rettangolare è stato battuto all’asta da Christie’s a New York per 201.600 Dollari.
Una cifra record se si pensa alle dimensioni del foglietto e al soggetto raffigurato. Si tratta del disegno di un rettangolo di 4,6 x 6 centimetri realizzato con penna e inchiostro bruno, con al centro l’iscrizione in corsivo “simile” montato su un bifoglio corredato da un’iscrizione di Cosimo Buonarroti e di John Bowring.
Il foglietto è andato all’asta con una stima compresa fra i 6mila e gli 8mila dollari ma il 17 aprile 2024 è stato battuto a NewYork per una cifra da capogiro.
La parte autografa è il solo schizzo del blocco di marmo con al centro la scritta ed è allegato a una lettera scritta dal mio pronipote Cosimo Buonarroti
Il disegno è stato battuto a una cifra di oltre 33 volte quella proposta.

A tiny sketch of mine sold for over 200 thousand dollars
A small drawing of mine of a rectangular block of marble was auctioned at Christie’s in New York for 201,600 dollars.
A record figure if you consider the size of the piece of paper and the subject depicted. It is a drawing of a 4.6 x 6 centimeter rectangle made with pen and brown ink, with the inscription in “similar” cursive in the center mounted on a bifolium accompanied by an inscription by Cosimo Buonarroti and John Bowring.
The piece of paper went up for auction with an estimate of between 6 thousand and 8 thousand dollars but on 17 April 2024 it was sold in New York for a staggering sum.
The autograph part is the only sketch of the marble block with the writing in the center and is attached to a letter written by my great-grandson Cosimo Buonarroti.
The design sold for more than 33 times the price proposed.
