Roma si prepara ad accogliere in grande stile i Tesori dei Faraoni in una mostra che farà molto parlare di sé, con 130 opere, gran parte provenienti dal Museo Egizio dei Cairo, alcune da Luxor e altre dal Museo Egizio di Torino.

Dal 24 ottobre 2025 al 3 maggio 2026, le Scuderie del Quirinale ospiteranno ‘Tesori dei Faraoni’, esposizione suddivisa in sei sezioni con un allestimento che si preannuncia scenografico. Tra i pezzi più pregiati che potranno essere ammirati e studiati a distanza ravvicinata, ci sarà la maschera d’oro di Amenemope.

Nella maschera di oro massiccio il faraone è ritratto da giovane. Indossa il nemes privo delle abituali strisce e ha sulla fronte l’ureo, simbolo di protezione e regalità. I colori presenti sulla maschera sono intarsi di corniola, pasta vitrea e lapislazzuli.

La mostra è nata da una stretta collaborazione tra le Scuderie del Quirinale e il Consiglio Supremo delle Antichità Egizie.

Arriveranno nella città eterna capolavori che fino al momento non erano mai usciti dai confini egiziani come i recenti ritrovamenti nella Città d’Oro o la copertura funeraria di Psusennes I e la Triade di Micerino, realizzata 4.500 anni orsono.

Il curatore della mostra ‘Tesori dei Faraoni’, l’egittologo Tarek El Awadi, ci tiene a precisare che sarà una sfida attrarre un pubblico come quello italiano abituato alla grande bellezza. Verranno esposti manufatti di grande valore artistico e storico come la collana delle Mosche d’oro della regina Ahhotep e raccontate storie attraverso reperti straordinari come il sarcofago di Tijuia, nonna del faraone Akhenaton.

L’esposizione sarà suddivisa in sei sezioni: dall’autorità divina dei sovrani alla complessità della società, dalla vita quotidiana alle credenze religiose passando poi ai riti funerari e alle scoperte archeologiche più recenti.

The Treasures of the Pharaohs in Rome

Rome is preparing to welcome the Treasures of the Pharaohs in grand style in an exhibition that will be much talked about, with 130 works, most of which come from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, some from Luxor and others from the Egyptian Museum in Turin.

The exhibition was born from a close collaboration between the Scuderie del Quirinale and the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities.

Masterpieces that until now had never left Egypt will arrive in the eternal city, such as the recent discoveries in the Golden City or the funerary covering of Psusennes I and the Triad of Menkaure, made 4,500 years ago.

The curator of the exhibition ‘Treasures of the Pharaohs’, Egyptologist Tarek El Awadi, is keen to point out that it will be a challenge to attract an audience like the Italian one, accustomed to great beauty. Artifacts of great artistic and historical value will be exhibited, such as the necklace of the Golden Flies of Queen Ahhotep, and stories will be told through extraordinary finds such as the sarcophagus of Tijuia, grandmother of Pharaoh Akhenaten.

The exhibition will be divided into six sections: from the divine authority of sovereigns to the complexity of society, from daily life to religious beliefs, then moving on to funerary rites and the most recent archaeological discoveries.
