Il 25 febbraio 1841 nacque a Limoges, in Francia, uno degli impressionisti più celebri al mondo: Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Figlio di genitori modesti, fin da giovane Renoir dimostrò un talento innato per l’arte. Dopo aver lavorato come decoratore di porcellane, volle iscriversi all’École des Beaux-Arts di Parigi.
La sua opera si distingue per l’uso distintivo del colore e per la rappresentazione di scene di vita quotidiana. Con il passare degli anni, Renoir divenne noto per i suoi dipinti di figure femminili e per le opere di nudo.
