Sta per arrivare a Firenze una grande mostra antologica dedicata all’artista olandese Maurits Cornelis Escher.

Escher, celebre nel mondo per le sue incisioni e litografie che si addentrano nel mondo dei paradossi matematici, delle architettura improbabili e delle simmetrie, avrà un’intera mostra dedicata alle proprie opere allestita presso il Museo degli Innocenti a Firenze.

Dal 20 ottobre 2022 al 26 marzo 2023 sarà possibile ammirare i suoi capolavori più iconici a distanza ravvicinata. Saranno esposte circa duecento opere fra le quali la Mano con sfera riflettente (1935), Vincolo d’unione (1956), Metamorfosi II (1939), Giorno e notte (1938) e la serie degli Emblemata.

La mostra “Escher” si propone come il primo grande evento espositivo all’interno del complesso monumentale del Museo degli Innocenti a Firenze.

L’istituto che per primo si fece carico dell’accoglienza dei bambini orfani o che non potevano comunque essere cresciuti dalle famiglie d’origine, oggi è un museo ricco di capolavori fra i quali opere di Luca e Andrea della Robbia, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Piero di Cosimo e Sandro Botticelli.

Fra le opere presenti abitualmente nel museo ce ne sono alcune realizzate proprio da artisti che sono cresciuti presso l’Istituto degli Innocenti come quelle di Giovan Battista Naldini, il Poppi e Vincenzo Ulivieri.

Escher nacque in Olanda nel 1898 ma visse in Italia ininterrottamente per dodici anni, dal 1923 fino al 1935. Si sposò a Viareggio e in Italia videro la luce i suoi figli. Nei suoi ricordi penserà sempre agli anni italiani come i migliori che visse nella sua vita.

La mostra dedicata alle sue opere che aprirà i battenti al pubblico il 20 ottobre 2022 si preannuncia essere uno degli eventi più importanti di questo autunno a Firenze.

Escher in Florence: the new exhibition

A major anthological exhibition dedicated to the Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher is about to arrive in Florence.

Escher, famous throughout the world for his engravings and lithographs that delve into the world of mathematical paradoxes, improbable architecture and symmetries, will have an entire exhibition dedicated to his works set up at the Museo degli Innocenti in Florence.

From 20 October 2022 to 26 March 2023 it will be possible to admire his most iconic masterpieces at close range. About two hundred works will be exhibited including the Hand with a reflective sphere (1935), Bond of union (1956), Metamorphosis II (1939), Day and Night (1938) and the Emblemata series.

The “Escher” exhibition is proposed as the first major exhibition event within the monumental complex of the Museo degli Innocenti in Florence.

The institute that was the first to take care of the reception of orphaned children or children who could not have been raised by their families of origin, today is a museum full of masterpieces including works by Luca and Andrea della Robbia, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Piero by Cosimo and Sandro Botticelli.

Among the works usually present in the museum there are some made by artists who grew up at the Istituto degli Innocenti such as those of Giovan Battista Naldini, Poppi and Vincenzo Ulivieri.
