L’Opera del Duomo di Firenze acquista Palazzo Compagni per allargare i propri spazi espositivi. Nella nuova sede verranno collocate sia le numerose opere presenti nei depositi museali che altri capolavori della diocesi.

L’acquisto preliminare di Palazzo Compagni è stato effettuato qualche settimana fa anche se a maggio l’Opera del Duomo aveva proposto la sua offerta irrevocabile e vincolante.

Lo storico Palazzo Compagni, ubicato in via Bufalini 7/9 è quindi destinato a diventare parte integrande del Museo del Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore. Le sale del palazzo infatti confinano con il retro del museo e non sarà complicato collegarle agli spazi espositivi già allestiti.

Entro il febbraio 2023 verrà stipulato il contratto definitivo e potrà essere avviata la ristrutturazione finanziata con prestiti bancari e le dismissioni di altri immobili appartenenti all’Opera.

I nuovi spazi ricavati all’interno del Palazzo Compagni verranno adoperati per mostrare ai visitatori le tante opere al momento custodite nei depositi museali e per trasferirci gli altri uffici della Fabbriceria al momento dislocati in altri immobili.

Inoltre, in accordo don la Diocesi, si sta pensando di allestire nelle varie sale un vero e proprio museo diocesano per proporre al pubblico opera d’arte al momento presenti in spazi chiusi o comunque non fruibili da parte del pubblico.

The Opera del Duomo of Florence buys Palazzo Compagni to expand its exhibition spaces. The numerous works present in the museum deposits and other masterpieces of the diocese will be placed in the new location.

The preliminary purchase of Palazzo Compagni was made a few weeks ago even though in May the Opera del Duomo had proposed its irrevocable and binding offer.

The historic Palazzo Compagni, located in via Bufalini 7/9 is therefore destined to become an integral part of the Museum of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The halls of the building in fact border the rear of the museum and it will not be difficult to connect them to the exhibition spaces already set up.

The final contract will be signed by February 2023 and the restructuring financed with bank loans and the divestment of other properties belonging to the Opera can be started.

The new spaces created inside the Palazzo Compagni will be used to show visitors the many works currently kept in the museum deposits and to transfer the other offices of the Fabbriceria currently located in other buildings.

In addition, in agreement with Don the Diocese, plans are being made to set up a real diocesan museum in the various rooms to offer the public works of art currently present in closed spaces or in any case not accessible to the public.
