“E’ cosa certa che le membra dell’architettura dipendono dalle membra dell’uomo. Chi non è stato o non è buon maestro di figure, e massimo di notimia, non se ne può intendere.”
Questo è ciò che pensavo in merito all’architettura. Scrissi tale concetto in una lettera che purtroppo non datai ma che misi nero su bianco approssimativamente fra il 1557 e il 1560 al cardinale Rodolfo Pio da Carpi.
Guardando certi palazzoni progettati nei vostri tempi pare che non siano molti gli architetti oggi ad avere ben presente il principio al quale mi attenni durante i progetti architettonici che fecero scuola.
