The Medici Madonna: video
The Medici Madonna is placed above the sarcophagus in which Lorenzo the Magnificent and his brother Giuliano have rested for centuries. Lorenzo died of gotta in 1492, the year of the discovery of America, while Giuliano was assassinated during the bloody conspiracy of the Pazzi.
Alongside the Virgin were the two twin saints who took care of medicine: San Cosma and San Damiano. Why are there really these two men? Well, they were those that the powerful Florentine family had chosen as their protectors.
Also this Madonna of mine, like almost all the others, looks away from the Little Son. The predicted and already marked future marked by the Child constantly disturbs the Mother.
I propose today a video shot in the Medici Chapels by Christian Maidana. Have a good vision from your Michelangelo Buonarroti.
