Michelangelo 550: il francobollo che ricorda l’anniversario
In occasione dei 550 anni dalla mia nascita, è stato emesso il 6 marzo 2025 il francobollo commemorativo dal Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy.
L’immagine impressa è quella del mio ritratto, realizzato su ispirazione di quello che mi fece Marcello Venusti, custodito a Casa Buonarroti.
Il ritratto in bianco e nero è inscritto in un cerchio con sfondo rosso. A sinistra, sotto il mezzo busto, si vede la mia Firma con la M della mia firma posizionata in alto. Devo dire però che all’interno dei tre cerchi di solito non mettevo la mia di iniziali ma quella del capo-cava che aveva provveduto a far estrarre il blocco di marmo siglato.
Completano il francobollo la legenda “MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI”, la scritta “ITALIA” e l’indicazione tariffaria “B 50 g”.
Il francobollo è stato tirato in soli duecentocinquantamila venti esemplari ed è stato realizzato da Marco Capaccioli.
Stampato dall’Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato in rotocalcografia ha grammatura di 90 g/mq

Michelangelo 550: the stamp that commemorates the anniversary
On the occasion of the 550th anniversary of my birth, the commemorative stamp was issued on March 6, 2025 by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
The image printed is that of my portrait, inspired by the one made by Marcello Venusti, kept at Casa Buonarroti.
The black and white portrait is inscribed in a circle with a red background. On the left, under the half-bust, you can see my signature with the M of my signature positioned at the top. I must say, however, that inside the three circles I usually did not put my initials but those of the quarry master who had arranged for the signed block of marble to be extracted.
The stamp is completed by the legend “MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI”, the wording “ITALIA” and the tariff indication “B 50 g”.
The stamp was printed in only two hundred and fifty thousand twenty copies and was created by Marco Capaccioli.
Printed by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato in rotogravure, it has a weight of 90 g/m2
