Dipinto di Monet battuto all’asta per 74milioni di dollari
Il dipinto di Monet dello Stagno delle Ninfee, titolo original Le bassin aux nympheas, è stato battuto all’asta da Christie’s a New York per 74 milioni di dollari, commissione inclusa.
Dipinta fra il 1917 e il 1919, l’opera è una delle poche di quel periodo di Monet che era possibile reperire sul mercato.
È uno dei tanti capolavori che Claude Monet realizzò nel suo prezioso giardino di Giverny, in Normandia, non troppo lontano da Parigi.
L’artista durante gli ultimi 25 anni della sua vita dipinse in modo quasi maniacale il proprio giardino, riproducendo ogni sfumatura stagionale, ogni emozione che gli attraversava cuore e mente.
Il dipinto Stagno delle Ninfee dal 1972 apparteneva allo stesso proprietario e il prezzo pagato dell’opera di zMonet non ha nemmeno sfiorato la cifra record di 107,7 milioni pagata per un’altra sua tela facente parte della serie Meules, venduta quattro anni fa all’asta da Sotheby’s.

Monet painting sold at auction for 74 million dollars
Monet’s painting of the Water Lily Pond, original title Le bassin aux nympheas, was auctioned at Christie’s in New York for 74 million dollars, commission included.
Painted between 1917 and 1919, the work is one of the few from that period by Monet that could be found on the market.
It is one of the many masterpieces that Claude Monet created in his precious garden in Giverny, in Normandy, not too far from Paris.
During the last 25 years of his life, the artist painted his garden in an almost obsessive way, reproducing every seasonal nuance, every emotion that ran through his heart and mind.
The painting Pond of the Water Lilies belonged to the same owner since 1972 and the price paid for zMonet’s work did not even come close to the record sum of 107.7 million paid for another of his canvases from the Meules series, sold four years ago to auction at Sotheby’s.
