Palazzo Vecchio: il presepe che arriva dal Rinascimento
A Palazzo Vecchio, nella Sala delle Udienze, da qualche giorno è stato allestito uno splendido presepe di terrecotte che sono arrivate fino ai nostri giorni direttamente dal periodo rinascimentale.
Conosciuto come il Presepe di Camoggiano, fu realizzato dal giovane Benedetto Buglioni (1459-1521) che ebbe modo di formarsi nella prestigiosa bottega dei Della Robbia. Il gruppo comprende dieci sculture in terracotta policroma e abitualmente è esposto presso il Museo Diocesano di Santo Stefano al Ponte.
E’ la prima volta che in epoca più moderna questo prezioso gruppo in terracotta lascia la sua collocazione abituale per essere esposto in quello che ancora oggi è la sede del governo della città: Palazzo Vecchio.
Per secoli questo Presepe è stato oggetto di devozione per tutta Camoggiano, località ubicata nel Mugello fino a quando non si è deciso di spostarlo nel museo diocesano fiorentino.
Il gruppo scultoreo, messo in dialogo con gli affreschi della Sala delle Udienze, potrà essere ammirato dai visitatori fino all’8 gennaio del 2023.
L’iniziativa fa parte del festival natalizio Green Line, promosso dal Comune di Firenze e organizzato da Mus.e, con la direzione artistica di Sergio Risaliti.

Palazzo Vecchio: the crib that comes from the Renaissance
In Palazzo Vecchio, in the Sala delle Udienze, a splendid terracotta nativity scene has been set up for a few days which has come down to the present day directly from the Renaissance period.
Known as the Camoggiano Crib, it was created by the young Benedetto Buglioni (1459-1521) who was able to train in the prestigious Della Robbia workshop. The group includes ten polychrome terracotta sculptures and is usually exhibited at the Diocesan Museum of Santo Stefano al Ponte.
It is the first time in more modern times that this precious terracotta group has left its usual location to be exhibited in what is still today the seat of the city’s government: Palazzo Vecchio.
For centuries this nativity scene has been the object of devotion throughout Camoggiano, a locality located in Mugello until it was decided to move it to the Florentine diocesan museum.
The sculptural group, placed in dialogue with the frescoes in the Sala delle Udienze, can be admired by visitors until 8 January 2023.
The initiative is part of the Green Line Christmas festival, promoted by the Municipality of Florence and organized by Mus.e, with the artistic direction of Sergio Risaliti.
