Alberto Angela racconta la Reggia di Versailles
Il 7 maggio del 1664, Re Luigi XIV inaugurò la grandiosa Reggia di Versailles, una delle più prestigiose d’Europa.
Per l’occasione vi propongo un documentario a cura di Alberto Angela, tratto da una puntata di Ulisse. Poco a poco ci introdurrà a corte per mostrarci le mode dell’epoca e ci farà sedere alla tavola del Re.
La Reggia di Versailles comprende tre edifici principali e altri secondari ubicati in città come il Grande Trianon, l’Hôtel Menus-Plaisirs o le scuderie. 700 stanze, 2513 finestre, 13 ettari di tetti, 483 specchi e 352 camini che durante l’Ancien Régime erano addirittura 1252: la reggia è tutto questo e molto altro ancora.
Il parco si estende su una superficie di 800 ettari e comprende 300 ettari di bosco e due preziosi giardini alla francese: il Piccolo Parco e il Trianon. Passeggiando fra i vari sentieri si possono vedere tutte le 372 sculture che lo decorano.
E che dire dei grandi bacini d’acqua? In totale sono 33 e alcuni hanno dimensioni davvero impressionanti.

Alberto Angela talks about the Palace of Versailles
On 7 May 1664, King Louis XIV inaugurated the grand Palace of Versailles, one of the most prestigious in Europe.
For the occasion, I propose a documentary edited by Alberto Angela based on an episode of Ulysses. Little by little he will introduce us to the court to show us the fashions of the time and will make us sit at the King’s table.
The Palace of Versailles includes three main buildings and other secondary buildings located in the city such as the Grande Trianon, the Hôtel Menus-Plaisirs or the stables. It includes 700 rooms, 2513 windows, 13 hectares of roofs, 483 mirrors and 352 fireplaces which during the Ancien régime were even 1252
