Il dipinto della flagellazione di Caravaggio arriverà il 6 giugno alla mostra in corso al Museo di Capodimonte, a Napoli.

La grande mostra “Capodimonte: Dalla Reggia al Museo” presenta oltre sessanta capolavori provenienti dalle prestigiose collezioni artistiche di Capodimonte con opere di Caravaggio, Tiziano, Masaccio e Parmigianino.

Il Palazzo Reale di Capodimonte, nel corso dei secoli, ha preservato alcune tra le più prestigiose raccolte d’arte d’Europa, offrendo ai visitatori l’opportunità di esplorare la sua storia e ammirare opere di inestimabile valore.

La mostra apre con una sala dedicata agli Artisti napoletani per la corte sabauda, offrendo importanti prestiti dalle collezioni dei Musei Reali di Torino, a testimonianza dei legami stretti tra i Savoia e i Borbone. Nella sezione sarà possibile apprezzare un’affascinante panoramica dei maestri napoletani, grandi protagonisti per gli altari di corte e i cantieri delle Residenze sabaude.

L’allestimento delle sale segue la storia straordinaria del Palazzo Reale di Capodimonte, che inizialmente accolse la collezione d’arte dei Farnese per poi divenire il primo museo napoletano. Nel corso del tempo, il museo si è arricchito della collezione dei Borbone e opere provenienti da chiese e conventi del territorio, contribuendo a formare un patrimonio regio di incommensurabile valore, specialmente di scuola meridionale.

Si segnala che l’opera “La flagellazione” di Caravaggio non sarà presente in mostra fino al 6 giugno.

La curatela della mostra è affidata a Sylvain Bellenger e Andrea Merlotti, con la partecipazione di un comitato curatoriale composto da Patrizia Piscitello, Carmine Romano, Alessandra Rullo, Clara Goria e Donatella Zanardo.

La realizzazione di questa esposizione è resa possibile grazie all’intervento del Ministero della Cultura in collaborazione con il Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte e i Musei Reali di Torino.

Exhibition in Capodimonte: Caravaggio’s Flagellation arrives from 6 June

Caravaggio’s painting of the flagellation will arrive on June 6th at the current exhibition at the Capodimonte Museum, in Naples.

The major exhibition “Capodimonte: From the Royal Palace to the Museum” presents over sixty masterpieces from the prestigious artistic collections of Capodimonte with masterpieces by Caravaggio, Titian, Masaccio and Parmigianino.

The Royal Palace of Capodimonte, over the centuries, has preserved some of the most prestigious art collections in Europe, offering visitors the opportunity to explore its history and admire works of inestimable value.

The exhibition opens with a room dedicated to Neapolitan artists for the Savoy court, offering important loans from the collections of the Royal Museums of Turin, testifying to the close ties between the Savoys and the Bourbons. In the section it will be possible to appreciate a fascinating overview of the Neapolitan masters, great protagonists for the court altars and the construction sites of the Savoy Residences.

The layout of the rooms follows the extraordinary history of the Royal Palace of Capodimonte, which initially housed the Farnese art collection and then became the first Neapolitan museum. Over time, the museum has been enriched with the Bourbon collection and works from churches and convents in the area, contributing to forming a royal heritage of immeasurable value, especially of the southern school.

Please note that Caravaggio’s work “The Flagellation” will not be on display until June 6th.

The curatorship of the exhibition is entrusted to Sylvain Bellenger and Andrea Merlotti, with the participation of a curatorial committee composed of Patrizia Piscitello, Carmine Romano, Alessandra Rullo, Clara Goria and Donatella Zanardo.

The creation of this exhibition was made possible thanks to the intervention of the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte and the Royal Museums of Turin.
