Palazzo dei Diamanti: sta per arrivare Escher
Dal 23 marzo al 21 luglio 2024 le sale espositive del Palazzo dei Diamanti di Ferrara accoglieranno per la prima volta le opere di Escher, artista geniale e visionario, da sempre amato dai matematici e riscoperto dal grande pubblico in tempi relativamente recenti.
Nato nel 1898 a Leeuwarden in Olanda, Maurits Cornelis Escher ha conquistato l’apprezzamento di milioni di visitatori grazie alla sua straordinaria capacità di trasportarli all’interno di mondi immaginifici e apparentemente impossibili.
Nelle creazioni dell’artista olandese, che ha vissuto in Italia fra le due guerre, confluiscono innumerevoli temi e suggestioni: dai teoremi geometrici alle intuizioni matematiche, dalle riflessioni filosofiche ai paradossi della logica.

La mostra ESCHER è organizzata da Arthemisia, Fondazione Ferrara Arte e Servizio Musei d’Arte del Comune di Ferrara in collaborazione con la M. C. Escher Foundation e Maurits ed è curata da Federico Giudiceandrea, uno dei più importanti esperti dell’artista, e Mark Veldhuysen, presidente della M.C. Escher Foundation.

Diamond Palace: Escher is coming
From 23 March to 21 July 2024 the exhibition rooms of the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara will welcome for the first time the works of Escher, a brilliant and visionary artist, always loved by mathematicians and rediscovered by the general public in relatively recent times.
Born in 1898 in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands, Maurits Cornelis Escher has won the appreciation of millions of visitors thanks to his extraordinary ability to transport them into imaginative and seemingly impossible worlds.
In the creations of the Dutch artist, who lived in Italy between the two wars, countless themes and suggestions converge: from geometric theorems to mathematical intuitions, from philosophical reflections to the paradoxes of logic.
His unmistakable works, which have influenced the world of design and advertising, challenge perception and represent a unique example in the panorama of art history of all time.
The ESCHER exhibition is organized by Arthemisia, Ferrara Art Foundation and Art Museum Service of the Municipality of Ferrara in collaboration with the M. C. Escher Foundation and Maurits and is curated by Federico Giudiceandrea, one of the most important experts on the artist, and Mark Veldhuysen, president of the M.C. Escher Foundation.
