‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, corps vivants’: il Louvre mette in dialogo me con Rodin
Dal 15 aprile al 2 luglio 2026, il Museo del Louvre apre le sue sale a un incontro unico tra due giganti della scultura: io, Michelangelo, e Rodin.
Intitolata “Corpi viventi”, o meglio alla francese ‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, corps vivants’, la mostra mette in scena un dialogo inedito tra secoli e stili, rivelando come il corpo umano possa diventare espressione di energia, anima e movimento.
Due geni a confronto
Per la prima volta, le mie opere e quelle di Rodin vengono accostate in un confronto diretto. I curatori Marc Bormand e Chloé Ariot guideranno i visitatori attraverso un percorso che esplora la forza del corpo e le profondità dell’anima. La mostra rivela continuità e differenze tra due approcci straordinari alla scultura, mostrando come entrambi abbiano saputo trasformare il corpo umano in simbolo di vita e emozione.
Il corpo come arte viva
In ‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, corps vivants’, il corpo non è solo forma: è pelle dell’anima, materia in movimento, soggetta al tempo e al gesto.
Attraverso marmi, bronzi, gessi, terracotta e disegni, la mostra illustra come io e Rodin abbiamo reinventato i modelli del passato, creando opere che anticipano le rotture artistiche del XX secolo. Il concetto di “non finito” diventa un elemento chiave, un segno di energia e vitalità racchiusa nella materia.
Opere iconiche da non perdere
Tra le quasi 150 opere esposte, saranno presenti i miei Prigioni del Louvre con la loro tensione interiore e i bronzi e gessi di Rodin, capaci di trasmettere movimento e vita. I visitatori possono ammirare anche sculture in terracotta, calchi e una ricca collezione di disegni, scoprendo come due stili diversi possano dialogare ed essere l’uno, ovvero il mio, modello per l’altro, ovvero Rodin.

‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, corps vivants’ sarà un viaggio attraverso la storia della scultura, che invita a riscoprire me e Rodin come innovatori capaci di raccontare l’anima attraverso il corpo. Ogni opera diventa un laboratorio di invenzione, in cui forma, gesto e energia si fondono per creare emozioni universali.

‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, Corps Vivants’: The Louvre Brings Me and Rodin into Dialogue
From April 15 to July 2, 2026, the Louvre Museum opens its galleries to a unique encounter between two giants of sculpture: me, Michelangelo, and Rodin. Titled “Living Bodies,” or rather, “Michel-Ange/Rodin, Corps Vivants,” the exhibition stages an unprecedented dialogue between centuries and styles, revealing how the human body can become an expression of energy, soul, and movement.
Two Geniuses in Comparison
For the first time, my works and those of Rodin are brought together in a direct comparison. Curators Marc Bormand and Chloé Ariot will guide visitors through a journey that explores the strength of the body and the depths of the soul. The exhibition reveals the continuities and differences between two extraordinary approaches to sculpture, demonstrating how both have transformed the human body into a symbol of life and emotion.
The Body as Living Art
In ‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, Corps Vivants’, the body is not merely form: it is the skin of the soul, matter in motion, subject to time and gesture.
Through marble, bronze, plaster, terracotta, and drawings, the exhibition illustrates how Rodin and I reinvented models of the past, creating works that anticipate the artistic revolutions of the 20th century. The concept of the “unfinished” becomes a key element, a sign of energy and vitality contained within the material.
Iconic Works Not to Be Missed
Among the nearly 150 works on display, my Prisoners from the Louvre, with their inner tension, will be featured, as will Rodin’s bronzes and plasters, capable of conveying movement and life. Visitors can also admire terracotta sculptures, casts, and a rich collection of drawings, discovering how two different styles can dialogue, one—my own—being a model for the other—Rodin.
An experience to be lived
‘Michel-Ange/Rodin, corps vivants’ will be a journey through the history of sculpture, inviting you to rediscover Rodin and me as innovators capable of expressing the soul through the body. Each work becomes a laboratory of invention, where form, gesture, and energy merge to create universal emotions.
