Sono di nuovo pronto a partire per una delle destinazioni che amo di più: Roma. Andrò a festeggiare i Santi patroni di Roma, Pietro e Paolo, nella città eterna. Sabato 29 di Giugno Roma offrirà un ricco programma di eventi che avranno inizio al mattino con l’allestimento dei tappeti di fiori di Via della Conciliazione per culminare in serata con la Girandola in Piazza del Popolo.

Sapete cos’è la Girandola? Uno spettacolo di fuochi artificiali che ideai io per papa Giulio II. Pensate che all’epoca c’era chi attraversava mezza Europa a cavallo per venire a vedere questi fuochi scoppiettanti e colorati. Dal 2008 il cavaliere Giuseppe Passeri è riuscito a ripristinare la tradizione che si era interrotta a metà dell’Ottocento, riportando a Roma quello spettacolo

Giulio II della Rovere aveva una era e propria passione per questi spettacoli di fuochi scoppiettanti. Per farlo contento elaborai un particolare marchingegno capace di realizzare spettacoli meravigliosi: la Girandola appunto. Fu subito un successo e pensate un po’: addirittura c’era chi s’attraversava tutta l’Europa a cavallo per venire a vedere la Girandola in azione.

Il cavaliere Giuseppe Passeri ha ripristinato la questa tradizione e mi ha onorato invitandomi personalmente a vedere il frutto del suo lavoro, messo in scena dal Gruppo IX Invicta & Co. Come mi ha scritto Passeri “la Girandola è una delle più belle pagine di allegrezza che Roma abbia mai avuto e non dovrebbe sparire mai”.

Lo spettacolo dei fuochi sarà preceduto da un’esibizione della Banda dell’Arma dei Carabinieri e dagli sbandieratori delle sette contrade di Orte in Piazza del Popolo.

Le mie giornate romane però saranno piene di impegni che non vedo l’ora di onorare nel migliore dei modi. Tornerò a vedere Giudizio Universale Show a distanza di un anno e qualche mese dal debutto…

I prepare my bags: destination Rome for the celebrations of St. Peter and Paul

I am ready to leave for one of the destinations I love most: Rome. I will go to celebrate the patron saints of Rome, Peter and Paul, in the eternal city. Saturday 29 of June Rome will offer a rich program of events that will start in the morning with the preparation of the flower carpets of Via della Conciliazione to culminate in the evening with the Girandola in Piazza del Popolo.

Giulio II della Rovere had an age and passion for these shows of crackling fires. To make him happy I elaborated a particular device capable of creating wonderful shows: the Girandola in fact. The fire show will be preceded by a performance by the Band of the Carabinieri and by the flag-wavers of the seven districts of Orte in Piazza del Popolo.

But my Roman days will be full of commitments that I can’t wait to honor in the best way. I will return to see the Last Judgment Show after one year and a few months from the debut …
